In an era where youth leadership is shaping global conversations, Kailash Suthar emerges as a compelling example of resilience, purpose, and international impact. From Ramdevra village in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, to chairing international conferences under the International Model United Nations (IMUN) framework, his journey reflects the power of determination and global-minded education.
Early Life and Academic Foundation
Kailash’s academic journey was shaped by early adversity. After completing his 9th standard, he was compelled to change schools due to false allegations, a turning point that tested his resilience. Refusing to let circumstances define him, he completed his 10th standard from Ramdevra village, Jaisalmer.
With renewed focus, he moved to Jodhpur for higher education and completed his 11th and 12th standard in the Commerce stream from Orchid Central School of Excellence, Kudi Bhagtasni, Jodhpur. This phase laid the foundation for his confidence, analytical thinking, and leadership development.
The Turning Point: Entering Model United Nations
During his 12th standard, Kailash participated in his first Model United Nations conference as the delegate of Germany. His performance earned him a Special Mention, marking a decisive shift in his aspirations. What began as a student activity soon evolved into a lifelong commitment to diplomacy, leadership, and international collaboration.
Discovering IMUN and Entering the Global Arena
Kailash’s journey took a significant leap when he discovered International Model United Nations (IMUN)—a globally recognised youth diplomacy platform that brings together students from across the world to engage in debate, negotiation, and solutions-building on real-world international issues.
He joined IMUN as an intern, where his dedication and professionalism earned him the Best Intern Mention from India. This recognition led to his selection as a Member of the Organising Committee for the IMUN International Conference held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, marking his first international assignment.
Following his return to India, his achievement was formally acknowledged by Mahant Pratap Puri Ji, MLA of Pokhran, Rajasthan, who acknowledged him as the first individual from his village, from Rajasthan, and from India to be part of an IMUN conference held in Yogyakarta.
Leadership Roles and International Recognition
Kailash’s leadership capabilities soon translated into higher responsibilities:
- July 2025 – Jakarta, Indonesia: Appointed Chairperson of the Organising Committee
- November 2025 – Manila, Philippines: Reappointed Chairperson of the Organising Committee
The IMUN conferences he chaired were supported by prominent global institutions, including UNHCR, the Australian Embassy, UNFPA, WHO, WFP, and UNDP, reinforcing the credibility and international stature of the platform and his leadership role within it.
Through his MUN and IMUN journey, Kailash has represented Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, and the Philippines, reflecting his adaptability, diplomatic insight, and cross-cultural competence.
