“Education should not only prepare students to earn a living—it should also prepare them to manage the money they earn.” This belief lies at the heart of Shubham Garg’s journey as an educator, researcher, and mentor.
In an era where digital payments, online investments, credit cards, and financial fraud are becoming part of everyday life, financial literacy has emerged as one of the most essential life skills. Yet, many students complete their schooling without understanding budgeting, saving, investing, insurance, taxation, or responsible borrowing. Recognizing this gap, Shubham Garg has dedicated his career to bridging the distance between classroom education and real-life financial decision-making.
With an academic foundation in M.Com. and B.Ed., Shubham further strengthened his professional expertise by qualifying CTET and the CA-CPT examination. He also earned a Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from NCERT, enabling him to guide students not only academically but also in making informed career and life decisions.
After serving as a Commerce teacher at Kamal Model Senior Secondary School, he is currently working as a PGT Commerce Teacher at Apex Public School, Delhi, where he encourages students to understand commerce as a practical subject that shapes everyday life.
Driven by a desire to contribute beyond the classroom, Shubham is pursuing a Ph.D. in Commerce on the topic “Financial Literacy and its Impact on Personal Financial Management with Reference to Delhi.” His research explores how financial awareness influences personal financial behaviour and how educational institutions can help build financially responsible citizens.
Beyond school, Shubham founded Guru Dronacharya Academy in Sant Nagar, Delhi, with the vision of providing quality education, conceptual clarity, and personalised mentorship. The academy focuses not only on academic excellence but also on confidence, analytical thinking, and career readiness.
With his background in guidance and counselling, he believes every student deserves individual attention and informed career guidance. His teaching combines subject expertise with practical examples that prepare students for life beyond examinations.
Looking ahead, Shubham aims to promote financial literacy through research, workshops, educational articles, and community outreach. He envisions a future where financial education becomes an integral part of school learning, empowering young people to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.
For Shubham Garg, teaching is more than a profession—it is a mission to create financially aware, responsible, and confident citizens who are prepared for both professional success and personal well-being.
