A youth writer from Nalbari ,Assam, Asik Ahmed has made remarkable contributions to literature, science communication, and media through years of consistent and dedicated work. His efforts reflect a strong commitment to spreading knowledge, promoting rational thinking, and engaging society through writing and public outreach.
Ahmed has authored numerous articles published in various Assamese newspapers and has contributed extensively to several digital news platforms. Through his writings, Ahmed consistently addresses themes related to science, contemporary society, rational thinking, and human values. He has also published four books—Samayar Sotat Chintadharar Paribartan, Bibidh Vigyan, Sampratik Shomoy, and Hridoyar Anubhab—demonstrating his dedication to spreading knowledge and engaging readers across diverse age groups.
In January 2020, he served as a Science Worker with the Bharat Jan Vigyan Jatha and was actively associated with the Science Exhibition on Wheels, an initiative catalyzed and supported by the National Council for Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi. The initiative aimed to raise scientific awareness among students, teachers, and rural communities through interactive demonstrations, low-cost experiments, and explanations of the science behind everyday phenomena.
Alongside appearances on media and news channel platforms, he has appeared as a guest in over 29 programs, revealing the science behind his magical activities. It should be mentioned that he has collaborated with the Pub Nalbari Assam Aryabhatta Science Centre, strengthening community-level science outreach. He has rendered exemplary service in the news media, promoting societal development. Recently, Bharat Jana Vigyan Jatha published his book Bibidh Vigyan, further consolidating his role as a science communicator.
Recognizing his sustained efforts over the years, Ahmed was selected to be recognized with a prestigious national award from Jeevan Jagriti Seva Sansthan in January 2026 for his significant contributions to literature, science communication, and media. The honour highlights his role as a dynamic young writer and communicator, inspiring youth and fostering a culture of curiosity, learning, and innovation across Assam.
