“EV highway ke liye nahi hoti… city car hai.” This was the most common line I heard when I bought my electric car.
In the last six months, I have completed 35+ road trips across India, many of them as solo journeys, proving that electric vehicles are not limited to city commutes anymore. What started as a personal experiment has now become a mission to spread awareness and confidence about EV travel through my YouTube channel Akkinagpal, where I share real-world ownership, charging experiences, range tests and road trip stories.
The biggest concern people have is range anxiety. My approach has always been simple — plan the route, understand the charging network, and drive efficiently. India’s EV charging infrastructure is growing rapidly, and highways that once looked challenging for electric cars are now completely doable with fast chargers at regular intervals.
But this journey is not just about numbers or kilometers. It is about changing mindsets.
From early morning departures to late-night charging stops, from interacting with curious onlookers at charging stations to helping new EV buyers plan their first highway trip — every road trip has been an opportunity to educate and inspire.
One of the most beautiful experiences of traveling in an EV is the way you connect with the journey. The silent drive, the lower running cost, the planned stops, and the awareness that you are moving towards a cleaner future — it transforms the entire road trip experience.
Through my content, I focus on real and honest information: actual highway range, fast-charging time and cost, route planning, charging network reliability and long-distance practicality. Because the Indian EV buyer does not need promotion — they need clarity.
Today, many of my viewers who once believed EVs were only for the city are now doing their own road trips. That shift in mindset is the real success of this journey.
Electric mobility in India is no longer about whether it will work. It is about how fast we adopt it.
An EV is not just a city car. India is ready for EV road trips.
