Indore-Based HealthTech Startup docr Opens ₹5 Crore Seed Round to Build AI-Powered Healthcare Ecosystem

Indore, India: Healthcare technology startup docr has opened conversations with investors to raise ₹5 crore in seed funding, as the Indore-based company looks to expand its AI-powered platform connecting doctors, clinics and patients.

Founded by Sourabh Sharma and backed by the parent company Advanced MechIntel Dynamics (AMID), docr is building what it describes as a digital healthcare operating system, with the larger goal of moving healthcare beyond one-time doctor visits toward continuous, connected and preventive care.

The company’s approach starts inside the clinic. Doctors and healthcare organisations can use docr for appointments, patient records, digital prescriptions, consultation workflows, clinic operations, patient communication and follow-ups. On the patient side, the platform provides doctor discovery, appointment booking, access to medical records and ongoing health and wellness tools.

From the doctor’s desk to the patient’s phone

A key part of docr’s proposition is bringing together several activities that are often handled separately by clinics.

Instead of maintaining paper records, separate appointment systems, messaging tools and spreadsheets, doctors can manage their practice through a single platform. The company is also integrating AI into everyday clinical workflows, including voice-based clinical documentation, consultation transcription, patient summaries and report analysis.

For patients, the idea is equally straightforward: their relationship with a doctor should not disappear after a consultation.

Through the docr Health app, patients can book doctors, access consultation histories and medical records, and remain connected with their healthcare providers. The company sees this ongoing connection as the foundation for preventive healthcare, where technology can help people stay engaged with their health between doctor visits.

Why docr is raising now

According to the company, docr has moved from product development toward early commercial validation, with healthcare organisations already using the platform. The startup is now seeking capital to accelerate sales and marketing, expand its team, strengthen enterprise capabilities and continue development across AI, automation and preventive healthcare.

“We believe healthcare shouldn’t end when the consultation ends,” Sharma said while announcing the fundraising initiative. The company’s broader vision is to build a platform that can connect clinic infrastructure, patient engagement, preventive healthcare and eventually wider healthcare networks.

The company is positioning the fundraise as a transition from building the core technology to expanding its presence across the healthcare market.

Built in Indore, aimed at a much larger market

While docr is being built in Indore, the startup is targeting healthcare providers and patients across India, including individual practitioners, clinics and larger healthcare organisations.

This focus on smaller and mid-sized healthcare providers is significant. Many clinics outside India’s largest metropolitan markets still rely heavily on paper records, phone calls, messaging applications and manual processes. docr is attempting to bring modern digital infrastructure to these practices without requiring them to operate like large hospital chains.

The company has also developed plans for enterprise and white-label healthcare solutions, allowing organisations to build customised digital healthcare experiences on top of docr’s underlying infrastructure.

The bigger bet: continuous healthcare

The ₹5 crore fundraise is ultimately tied to a larger ambition than clinic-management software.

docr wants to build a healthcare ecosystem in which a patient’s medical history, consultations, prescriptions, health activity and interactions with healthcare providers can become part of a continuous digital journey.

The company’s roadmap moves from clinic infrastructure to a patient platform, then toward a broader healthcare network and preventive-health ecosystem. Its longer-term plans include areas such as connected health devices and wearable technology.

The company is currently inviting qualified investors to participate in its ₹5 crore seed round. According to docr, the capital will be used to move the business from early commercial validation toward wider regional expansion and enterprise readiness.

For an industry where a patient’s healthcare journey can still be scattered across paper prescriptions, WhatsApp messages, diagnostic reports and multiple clinic systems, docr is betting that the next major change in healthcare will not simply be another appointment-booking app.

It will be the creation of a continuous digital layer connecting the patient and the healthcare system long after the consultation is over.
