In Class 9, Piyush Khandelwal scored 38 percent. It is the kind of number that makes teachers lower their expectations and makes a student quietly wonder whether he is cut out for success at all.
Three years later, in Class 12, that same student secured All India Rank 1 in the Physics Wallah Scholarship Exam, finishing at the very top among lakhs of students from across the country.
And a few years after that, just six months after starting his own technology company, Piyush was on national television, presenting Olinp Technology Private Limited on Zee TV’s Ideabaaz, India’s answer to Shark Tank.
His story is not about talent that was always obvious. It is about what happens when someone refuses to accept the number written next to their name.
The Comeback That Started It All
The 38 percent did not define Piyush. It woke him up. He rebuilt his approach to studying from the ground up, replacing pressure with discipline and fear with consistency. The result was a turnaround few would have predicted: All India Rank 1 among lakhs of aspirants.
But life tested him again. Soon after his success, a health setback forced him to slow down at the very moment everything seemed to be falling into place. Instead of letting it break his momentum, Piyush used the time to recover, reflect, and rethink what he truly wanted to build.
He went on to study computer science engineering at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. There, he began reading voraciously, books on business, technology, and the lives of people who built something from nothing. Slowly, a clear goal took shape: he did not want to just find a job. He wanted to create something that would solve real problems and create jobs for others.
From a College Dream to a Real Company
In college, Piyush found what every founder needs most: like-minded people who were just as hungry to build. Together with co-founders from IIT Bombay and BIT Mesra, he started Olinp Technology Private Limited, a technology company that builds software products for businesses across India and around the world.
Within just six months of starting, Olinp was featured on Zee TV’s Ideabaaz, a national platform that most founders spend years trying to reach. In just one year, the company has built more than 100 technology products for clients across the globe, earned recognition from ISRO / IN-SPACe, the AI Impact Summit India 2026 and IIT Madras, and achieved something far rarer in the technology services world: a customer repeat rate of more than 90 percent.
A Company Built on One Simple Rule
Every business makes promises. Very few keep them. Fewer still go beyond them.
From the very first day, Piyush built Olinp around a single rule: whatever is promised to a client, the client must receive more. More attention, more thought, more quality, and more value than what was written in the proposal. Technology clients are used to missed deadlines, budget overruns, and teams that disappear after launch. Olinp set out to be the exact opposite.
“Anyone can win a client once with a good pitch,” Piyush says. “Whether that client comes back tells you if you actually delivered. We promise what we know we can do, and then we give more. That is why our clients do not just stay with us. They bring their next project to us.”
The Number That Matters Most: 90%+ Repeat Clients
Revenue can be bought with marketing. Recognition can be earned with a great pitch. But there is one metric no business can fake, and that is how many customers choose to come back.
At Olinp, more than nine out of every ten clients return for their next project. In an industry where switching vendors is the norm, that number says more about the company than any award ever could. Olinp’s clients are not just satisfied. They are delighted, and delighted clients become repeat clients, referral partners, and long-term believers in the brand.
Today, Olinp works across fintech, HR tech, marketplaces, real estate, manufacturing, and AI and automation, delivering mobile apps, web platforms, and backend systems for startups and established businesses alike.

Recognition That Arrived in Record Time
For a company that is just one year old, the list of recognition Olinp has earned reads like that of a firm many times its age:
Featured on Zee TV Ideabaaz, India’s equivalent of Shark Tank, within six months of starting.

From 38 Percent to Building the Future
The student who once scored 38 percent now leads a company that helps businesses grow, protects public spaces with offline AI, and wins recognition from some of India’s most respected institutions. For Piyush, both journeys follow the same principle: do not accept the number in front of you as the final result.
“A bad score, a setback, a slow start, none of it decides where you end up,” Piyush says. “What decides it is whether you keep showing up. That is true for a student, and it is true for a company. At Olinp, we build, we deliver, and we grow together with our clients. We are just getting started. The best is yet to come.”
