How curiosity, failure, NEET preparation, and the need to solve my own problems led me to build Syllox.

I come from a small village in Bihar, and at the age of 19, I am trying to build something of my own in the world of technology and education.

My interest in computers started at a very young age. By Class 8, I had started dreaming of becoming a software engineer. In Class 9, I discovered coding and ethical hacking, which made me even more curious about technology. During the lockdown, I got more time to explore and learn. I started learning programming and app development through YouTube and online resources, mostly by myself.

My journey, however, was not always smooth. I initially wanted to pursue engineering, but due to difficulties with mathematics, I chose PCB and started preparing for NEET. I eventually moved to Kota for my preparation. Along the way, health issues and other challenges affected my studies, but my interest in technology never really went away.

Before Syllox, I also tried building an app called Tracky. It did not become successful, but that failure taught me a lot about building products and, more importantly, about not giving up after something does not work.

The idea of Syllox came from my own experience as a student. While preparing for competitive examinations, I felt that managing the syllabus, study sessions, targets, mock tests and overall progress across different tools was difficult. I thought there should be a simpler way to manage the entire preparation journey in one place.

That is how I started building Syllox.

While working on it, I had to learn many things that I had never worked with before, including databases, backend systems, authentication, APIs and deployment. Most of the time, I was learning while building, facing bugs and failures, and figuring things out along the way.

What started as a small idea gradually became a real product. Syllox is now live, and I am working towards taking it to more students and making it a useful platform for competitive-exam aspirants.

For me, Syllox is not just about building a startup. It is also about proving to myself that where you come from does not have to decide what you can build. Coming from a small village, I did not have a startup background or a team of experts when I started. I simply had curiosity, access to the internet, and the willingness to keep learning.

I also have a dream of pursuing medicine, specialising through MD/MS and eventually building my own hospital. At the same time, I want to continue exploring technology and entrepreneurship and build products that can solve real problems.

I know I am still at the beginning of my journey, and there is a lot left to learn. Syllox may also be at an early stage today, but I believe every big journey starts with a small step.

For me, Syllox is not the destination. It is just the beginning.
