There is a new generation of young entrepreneurs emerging in India who are building businesses through technology rather than following conventional career paths. At just 21, the founder of Thirann Media has transformed a difficult financial situation into a growing AI video production business.

Coming from a financially struggling family, he was unable to continue paying his college fees and eventually had to drop out. Instead of allowing that setback to define his future, he entered the workforce and later chose to build a business of his own.

Today, Thirann Media has grown into a 15-member team operating across three successful offices, serving clients across Tamil Nadu and the Tamil-speaking community in Malaysia. In just nine months, the company has generated approximately ₹50 lakh in revenue, with an ambition to reach ₹1 crore by the end of the year.

The Turning Point That Changed Everything

After leaving college, the young entrepreneur took a job paying ₹20,000 per month. Although it was not the career he wanted, his financial circumstances made it necessary. After approximately three months, he made a bold decision: he left the job without another job or financial backup.

In the very first month after leaving his job, he and his team generated approximately ₹1 lakh through their business. Instead of spending the money personally, he reinvested every rupee into the company and used it to establish the first office.

That first office became the foundation for what Thirann Media is today. Along the way, he began learning extensively about artificial intelligence and discovered how AI could be combined with cinematic knowledge and visual storytelling to create new possibilities in video production.

Building Thirann Media Around AI

Thirann Media provides AI-powered creative solutions including advertisements, emotional videos, personalised videos and other visual content. The company focuses on combining artificial intelligence with cinematic storytelling rather than treating AI as simply a visual-generation tool.

One of its distinctive areas is personalised gifting. People who are tired of giving conventional gifts such as watches and dresses can instead create personalised AI videos that turn memories, emotions and stories into cinematic experiences. The goal is to create something that can become a cherished and unforgettable memory.

A Business Built With People Who Believed

The entrepreneur did not build the company alone. The early team included college mates and school mates who believed in his vision when he was starting with very little. At one stage, around eight people were involved in the journey.

Despite the common belief that starting a business with a large group of friends can lead to failure, the team continued to work together and grow. The company has now expanded to three successful offices and a 15-member team.

For the founder, one of his greatest achievements is not simply the revenue or offices, but being able to create opportunities for the same people who believed in him before his success.

Learning as the Foundation

Continuous learning remains one of his strongest principles. He believes an entrepreneur should never stop learning and should also share knowledge with the people around them.

His exploration of AI, combined with his understanding of cinematic visuals, has helped shape Thirann Media’s approach to production. The company aims to make quality visual storytelling more accessible and budget-friendly while still focusing on emotion, storytelling and cinematic presentation.

A Growing Impact

Thirann Media has completed work for thousands of clients across Tamil Nadu and the Tamil community in Malaysia. Its growing presence in AI production, particularly in advertisements and personalised gift videos, reflects the increasing interest in accessible AI-powered visual content.

The company is now focused on expanding its reach beyond Tamil Nadu and eventually serving clients across India.

A Vision Beyond Business

The founder’s long-term vision is to build a large AI production and AI services company serving the whole of India. His personal ambition is to become a leading young entrepreneur while creating meaningful opportunities for the people working with him and contributing to national growth.

His journey—from dropping out of college because of financial difficulties, to leaving a ₹20,000 job without a backup, generating ₹1 lakh in the first month of business, and building a ₹50 lakh-revenue company in nine months—reflects a belief that difficult beginnings do not have to determine the size of one’s future.

The next milestone is ₹1 crore in revenue. Beyond that, the vision is larger: to make AI-powered cinematic production accessible to people and businesses across India.
