CHENNAI, India, July 8, 2026 — Film composer, singer-songwriter, Indian classical vocalist, multi-genre performer, music producer, playback singer, recording engineer, cross-cultural collaborator, and multidisciplinary artist S. J. Jananiy has been officially recognised by the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for achieving the record title:
“Maximum Music Credits Held by an Individual in a Tamil Feature Film.”
The record was achieved through her work in the Tamil feature film RAIL, released on 21 June 2024, in which she held 10 distinct music credits: Film Composer, Music Producer, Music Arranger, Playback Singer, Orchestrator, Vocal Producer, Conductor, Recording Engineer, Mixing Engineer, and Multi-Instrumentalist. The achievement was officially confirmed by the India Book of Records on 18 May 2026 and by the Asia Book of Records on 23 May 2026.
This recognition highlights S. J. Jananiy’s exceptional versatility as a music professional, demonstrating her ability to successfully integrate creative artistry, technical expertise, music production, orchestration, recording, performance, and post-production within a single feature film. By undertaking such a broad spectrum of responsibilities, she has established a remarkable milestone in Tamil cinema and the Indian music industry.
The soundtrack of RAIL reflects Jananiy’s commitment to blending Indian musical traditions with contemporary cinematic expression, showcasing a rare combination of artistic vision and technical excellence throughout the production process. As part of the project, she collaborated with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra for both the film’s soundtrack album and background score, underscoring her commitment to cross-cultural musical collaborations.
Expressing her gratitude, S. J. Jananiy thanked the jury members of the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for conferring this prestigious honour.
