India’s private markets ecosystem has long run on an uneven split. Large institutional investors get research, data, and infrastructure purpose-built for them. Emerging fund managers, individual investors, and smaller capital allocators get almost nothing designed with their needs in mind, and when data is available, its accuracy rarely matches what is being charged for it. This gap is what led Ankit, Founder of LabelNest India Private Limited, to build a platform meant to connect the full chain of India’s private capital ecosystem, not just serve a slice of it.

The problem was never a lack of tools. It was a lack of a unified, intelligent system built for the scale of players that global platforms like Preqin and PitchBook were never designed to serve. Individuals had no real access to reliable databases at any price. Emerging managers had no infrastructure to prepare for a raise the way a Series B fund’s advisors would prepare them. Ankit saw this not as a niche gap but as a market of over 200,000 investment funds, 100,000 individual investors, and 30,000 capital managers, providers, seekers, and venture studios that no existing platform had properly captured.

LabelNest was incorporated in Bangalore on December 6, 2025, following groundwork that began the month before. At the center of the platform sits NestLens Intelligence, the private market data layer Ankit built because nothing comparable existed for India and markets that look like it. It is a structured, verified database spanning over 200,000 funds, 110,000 contacts, 350,000 total entities, and coverage that stretches into venture studios, accelerators, grants, and government schemes that no other platform structures at all. Every relationship in the database, whether between a fund and a portfolio company or an LP and a GP, carries an explicit confidence label of Verified, Reported, or Inferred, so users always know how reliable a connection actually is. A live signals feed tracks fundraise activity, people movements, and market events as they happen, and an entity unlock model lets users pay only for the profiles they need rather than a flat subscription to data they will never touch. It is the foundation every other LabelNest product is built on.

Sitting alongside it is Capital Readiness, the platform’s most complete product and the one Ankit is proudest of. It is the investor preparation system emerging market founders have never had access to, built on the premise that a pre-seed founder and a Series B founder are being asked completely different questions by investors, and most tools do not account for that. A guided, stage-aware data room surfaces exactly what gap exists for a founder’s current stage. An investor fit scoring engine matches founders to funds, angels, and family offices by stage, sector, and geography, pulling from live Intelligence data rather than a static directory. A legal checklist goes beyond listing documents to explain why an investor will actually ask for each one, and a live opportunity feed surfaces grants, competitions, and venture studio programmes a founder qualifies for in real time. Its Fund Track extends the same infrastructure to emerging GPs building LP data rooms for their first or second fund, the first product of its kind built for Indian fund managers.

Around these sit NestHR, a full-stack people operating system covering the employee lifecycle across eleven modules, and NestLens Exchange, a two-sided marketplace where verified sellers compete for structured data and research briefs. Behind all of them runs a proprietary internal ecosystem of entity management, live data crawling, and quality control that keeps every product’s data accurate and current rather than a static snapshot.

LabelNest remains pre-revenue by design. Ankit has spent the first year building the data foundation before bringing on paying clients, and the proof of momentum shows in the details: two confirmed pilots with data buyers that validated the core thesis, an active Fellowship programme now in its second cohort, seventeen verified providers already onboarded to the Exchange marketplace, and acceptance into the Sarvam AI Startup Program alongside LvlUp Ventures Labs and First Check Fund. A newsletter built around the operator to founder journey has already crossed 650 subscribers in its first three weeks, with over 10,000 engagements across seven published briefings. The team operates lean, under twenty people, built deliberately for depth over headcount.

“Movement is not action,”Ankit says of the approach, a line that captures why LabelNest has resisted the temptation to launch a flashy single product in favour of the slower work of building real infrastructure first.

Over the next two years, the vision is a complete capital ecosystem loop, where a fund manager sources relationships through Intelligence, raises using Capital Readiness, deploys into portfolio companies preparing their own next raise, and generates revenue for incubation partners through Exchange, all on one connected data foundation. Alongside it, LabelNest is developing Riven, a private market risk analytics platform for Indian AIFs, GPs, LPs, family offices, and venture platforms, targeting an October 2026 launch.

The ambition is not India alone. It is to become the platform that emerging managers everywhere, whether raising in Bangalore, Singapore, Nairobi, or Lagos, use to understand their market and build with data they actually own and trust.
