Driven by global education, hands-on hospitality experience, and an entrepreneurial vision,
Dean Noronha has built Stay NC Eco Cottages into a growing resort destination in Nashik, Maharashtra India.
Dean began his academic journey in hospitality by completing his Hotel Management from
Monarch College in Ooty. During this time, he gained a strong understanding of hotel
operations, guest service, and the fundamentals of the hospitality industry. This education
helped him build the practical and managerial skills required for a successful career in hotels
and tourism.
To further expand his knowledge and gain international exposure, Dean moved to Canada
where he completed his Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism from Centennial
College. Studying in Canada allowed him to understand global hospitality standards, tourism
management practices, and the importance of delivering quality service to guests from
diverse cultural backgrounds.
He later continued his higher education in New Zealand, completing his Postgraduate
studies and Master’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality from the Eastern Institute of
Technology. This advanced education helped him develop a deeper insights into tourism
development, hospitality management, and the business strategies involved in running
successful hospitality ventures.
Alongside his academic background, Dean also gained valuable hands-on experience
working in different parts of the world. During his internship at the Sheraton Jumeirah
Beach Resort in Dubai, he received professional training across four key departments of
hotel operations — Food & Beverage Service, Food Production, Front Office, and
Housekeeping. This comprehensive training helped him understand how different
departments function together to ensure smooth hotel operations and excellent guest
experiences.
Dean also worked at Hotel West Harvest Inn in Regina, Canada, where he gained exposure
to North American hospitality practices. Later, he worked with Ibis Hotels in New Zealand
AS Night Manager, further strengthening his skills in hotel operations and customer
service.
In addition to his international experience, Dean also worked as a Store Manager at the
Ooty Gymkhana Club. In this role, he was responsible for managing the kitchen store and
ensuring that supplies were well organized and consistently updated. This experience
helped him understand the importance of inventory control, kitchen operations, and
efficient stock management, which are essential aspects of running a successful hospitality
establishment.
Despite gaining international experience and working in various hospitality environments,
Dean always wanted to be back and had a strong entrepreneurial ambition. Instead of
going big right away he chose to begin small. His entrepreneurial journey started with three
apartments listed on Airbnb, where he personally managed guest stays and focused on
delivering a comfortable and reliable hospitality experience. The success of this venture
eventually led him to expand his vision and establish his own resort in Nashik.
