Unlike matrimony platforms built around one specific caste or community, MarathiVivah is organized to let members search and filter across all castes, with dedicated browsing by community, district, and profession. The platform also includes a mutual inter-caste matching feature, allowing members open to inter-caste marriage to identify one another directly on their profile — reflecting a deliberate, inclusive design choice rather than an afterthought, at a time when attitudes toward inter-caste marriage are gradually shifting across Maharashtra.
Alongside matchmaking, MarathiVivah runs a free Marathi biodata maker that has become a popular standalone tool in its own right, used by families even outside the platform’s core matchmaking base. It offers 11 templates, including four premium designs, lets users generate a traditional-style lagnacha biodata (marriage biodata) and download it instantly as a PDF, and requires no login, no payment, and adds no watermark — a rarity among biodata tools that typically gate PDF downloads behind a signup or a fee.
Privacy has been treated as a core design requirement throughout the platform. Profile photographs on MarathiVivah are shown with watermarks and reduced visibility to visitors who have not logged in, and clearer images are only made available to verified, logged-in members — a safeguard aimed particularly at protecting women’s photographs from being scraped or misused elsewhere online. The platform uses OTP-based login instead of traditional passwords, reducing the risk of stolen or reused credentials, and contact details are kept hidden until both parties have expressed mutual interest. Built-in reporting and blocking tools allow members to flag suspicious behavior, with repeated reports triggering automatic profile deactivation.

“When we were searching for matrimony platforms ourselves, the issues were the same everywhere — slow websites, high charges, and very little thought given to how a woman’s photo or personal information was being protected. We also didn’t want to build something that only served one caste or community. That’s why we’re offering a full year of free access to every member right now, and free tools like our Marathi biodata maker to anyone who needs them, whether or not they join the platform. Eventually we will introduce a subscription, but it will always be priced far below what other platforms charge.”
